1.five stars because I'll admit that the book is quite beautifully-written and I enjoyed the catastrophe. Everything else, nonetheless... Come across Cassandra. Self-centred, bratty rich daughter who has been forced to stay at her parents' summer firm in a "ritzy, historic neighborhood" and hang out on their private beach. What fresh hell is this, she wonders, in between the parties and relaxation. Naturally, she responds to her fell fate past acting out and trespassing on private property. Simply so - *gasp* - her evil parents ground her for like two days when she gets escorted home in the centre of the dark past a security guard. A grounding that does not include parties, shopping, or dates with cute boys, information technology seems. Then one night, when poor Cassandra is out on her private embankment and "pondering the subtle anguish of life" (direct quote, I did not make that up), she meets an unbelievably gorgeous, dreamy guy who both quotes poesy and writes his own. It's just as well proficient. I couldn't make this shit up in the emo diaries I wrote at 13. Turns out this dude is from 1925 and likewise rich beyond belief. He is such an empty grapheme, a gorgeous void filled with romanticism and Emily Dickinson quotes. It's hard to believe that even younger readers will purchase into this romance and fall for Lawrence. And a few other things... No chemistry. There was absolutely none in that location for me. Probably considering Cassandra and Lawrence never felt real to me, constantly spewing emo nonsense and poetry. This is a book for hardcore romance lovers merely. It's high on the cheese cistron and low on complexity and character development. A very basic tale of starcrossed emo lovers and I disliked them both. Edited August 5, 2016 I'm a sucker for romances washed well, but I knew pretty quickly this book was not for me. Non merely do these ii have forever to sort out that they're from different eras (despite obvious clues and more than than enough time), the writing is merely...painfully hostage and stilted and unsophisticated. Information technology tries too difficult to strength emotion and adoration for the characters and their actions, without existence the least bit disarming; even the moneyed setting and the literary asides seemed unnatural. I stopped afterward a few chapters, though I skimmed here and in that location and and then read the catastrophe, which was exactly what I would have wanted, at least. It'southward but a shame that what should have been a sweepingly romantic, bittersweet story ended upwards feeling then very cable-moving picture-of-the-week. This was a YA fourth dimension-travel romance, with a bloodshot ending. Cassandra wasn't the nicest person at the kickoff of this book, and she was pretty rude to her parents and Lawrence. Thankfully she improved as the book went along though, and started to think of other people than herself all the time. The storyline in this was about Cass and Lawrence meeting on a beach and getting a chip confused over where each lived every bit they lived in the same house just in dissimilar time periods, and eventually working out that something weird was going on. We got a footling chip about the butterfly outcome, and so Cass found out that Lawrence was going to be murdered on the beach in less than ii weeks' time, and set out to modify that, fifty-fifty though she should have considered the butterfly effect once again. The ending to this was pretty bittersweet, although what can you really expect from a time-travel romance? 6 out of x "We office. So, like magnets, our lips come together again."
The pace in this was a bit slow, and I did detect information technology difficult to stay interested.
4.5 stars I LOOOVED this book!! It was exactly what I was looking for: a fantasy book with a potent, eye-throbbing romance. Only there were then many more elements to this story: * Mob families SO MANY Crawly THINGS!! My only complaint was that it did feel a bit "fluffy" at times with regards to the romance (which is weird, given the events of the story). Sometimes it felt a piddling bit airheaded, I guess. Less epic and more like fun entertainment, which is yet perfectly okay. It merely felt like a book that you can't take 100% seriously.

DNF at thirty% I was really looking forrad to reading this book considering blurb appealed to me on many levels. Unfortunately, upshot was very unsatisfactory and fifty-fifty those thirty% I managed to read felt similar colossal waste of my time. I dare to say that it'south every reader'south nightmare to have someone like Cassandra as narrator of the volume (if only there were more capacity written in Lawrence's POV). And as soon as insta-love (and no chemistry betwixt primary protagonists) showed its ugly head, I knew that it was time to put this book downwards. I didn't like Cassandra from the get-go. Spoiled, whiny, arrogant, rude, stupid, judgmental...she was nonstop getting on my nerves. Unless you enjoy being annoyed, she is the kind of character that you truly do not want to narrate the book which you are reading.
Oh the ANGST is strong in this i. I'grand a sucker for star-crossed romances. Considering, in my opinion they make for the all-time honey stories. Then imagine my excitement when I read the blurb of this book. Sounds fantastic, amiright? I merely knew this book was going to requite me a case of ALL the feels. Boy was I wrong. Until Nosotros Meet Again, is the poster kid for "Novels That Could Have Been Way Improve". The writing at times was lovely and poetic, but at that place was an unevenness to it that, equally a whole, left the text choppy and coarse. The characters were unremarkable in every way. Cassandra was supremely immature and selfish, and altogether unlikable. Lawrence'south character was completely over-the-peak with all of his poetic charms and brooding sensuality. Both were highly frustrating characters to deal with, and putting them together was only a amalgam of melodramatics and angst. Their romance still has me rolling my eyes, considering the writer took absolutely no time at all to even build up an allure betwixt them before they started declaring their lives to one another. Ugh! Information technology was both laughable and painful to read. One of my pet peeves with YA novels, in particular, is when the writer fades out the MC's family because why not. For me it just makes the story that much more unbelievable, and I call up it's pretty lazy on the author'southward part. This novel is no exception. I seriously forgot that Cass had a little blood brother named Eddie and a footstep-father named Frank until the very ending when they were reintroduced once again. That'southward never a proficient thing. But going back to the plot, at that place was but an extreme lack of substance to it. I got and then tired of Cass running to go run across Lawrence. Them getting upset with each other and running abroad. And then Cass running to go run across Lawrence.... AND Repeat. Like that's the majority of the book! The way the 2 characters are so confused when they time travel is so entertaining. Lawrence, being from the past, learns about the world today and discovers things like Starburst candy. Cassandra, being from the present, thinks Lawrence is insane, since he doesn't know about modern objects. Information technology is so enlivening reading most Cassandra and Lawrence's stupor towards fourth dimension travel. My favourite thing about Until Nosotros Meet Again is how the book is half historical fiction. The book is mainly set in nowadays date, but in Lawrence's point of view, the book goes back to the 1920s. It is so interesting reading about the social events and the manner back then. I am non a big historical fiction reader, so this book was the perfect way to read historical, simply not likewise much of it. Cassandra is a really neat grapheme for Until We See Again.
